Many e-commerce businesses face a similar situation. Ads are running, sales are coming in, revenue is growing, but at the end of the month the expected profit is not materializing. The most fundamental reason for this is the confusion between revenue and profit. The selling price of a product and the net amount the business actually receives are not the same thing. When platform commissions, shipping fees, service deductions, withholding tax and advertising costs are deducted, the picture can change significantly.
Most businesses make decisions by looking at their advertising dashboard. ROAS may appear high, click numbers may have increased. However, this data alone is not sufficient. To understand whether advertising is truly generating profit, it needs to be evaluated together with sales channels. Which platform generates how much revenue? Which product is truly profitable? Without clear answers to these questions, healthy growth is not possible.
Another problem is that data is scattered. The advertising dashboard is in one place, marketplace data is in another place, and website analytics are in a separate place. In this situation, instead of making decisions, guesses are made. Real growth, however, starts not with guesses but with clear data. Being able to see performance as a whole is the first step to understanding profitability.
